A Neighborhood Meeting Place - Gaf means “meeting place”
or “chat” in Irish slang, so it makes perfect sense that the joint is a pseudo-upscale
Irish bar, complete with dark-wood floors, a cozy-looking fireplace and
Guinness on tap. It occupies a building that used to be home to a
long-standing KC institution, Romanelli’s Grill (long-standing as in, oh,
over 70 years), and the Gaf only recently took over the old Romanelli space.
No one is complaining, though; the prices are reasonable, the food is quite
good, and the crowd leans toward young, urban professionals and baby boomers. |
